A Bordeaux blend that aims to faithfully express the terroir from which the entire tradition and winemaking heritage of Concha y Toro emerged. It has good acidity and freshness. It has textbook aromas of a Bordeaux blend, with the freshness of the high percentage of Cabernet Franc and with gentler tannins. It's more elegant than the Master Edition from this same vintage that is also from the Mariscal Vineyard but from grafted vines."-Wine Advocate
"The fruit-forward nose features redcurrant and blackberry notes as well as bay leaf against a cedar backdrop. Featuring the polished tannins typical of the Puente Alto area, the flow is broad and gently channeled, enlivened by a juicy acidity that delivers lasting juicy flavor. A crystal clear, terroir-driven wine."-Vinous
DENOMINATION OF ORIGIN
Puente Alto, Alto Maipo Valley.
VINEYARD
El Mariscal Vineyard
WEATHER
Semi-arid Mediterranean with a significant influence from the Andes Mountain Chain. This is the coolest part of the Maipo Valley and the pronounced thermal range of around 18°C slows down the grape-ripening process, concentrating and intensifying their aromas.
AGING
16 months in French oak barrels (25% new and 75% second-use).
