Roggio Del Filare Rosso Piceno DOC Superiore

DESCRIPTION OF THE UPPER PICENO RED 'ROGGIO DEL FILARE' POISONOUS 2020

The "Roggio del Filare" is a Superior Red Piceno that from the first moments makes us part of its charm. The tasting on the nose and palate brings out elegant, warm flavours and scents, which certify a quality that sees the Velenosi winery awarded very important scores and recognitions at the national level. An award-winning label therefore, where the full sip caresses the palate with gratitude and intensity, reminding us how the Marche region is able to give life to excellent red wines.

The Rosso Piceno Superiore "Roggio del Filare" is born from grapes of a grape variety that is particularly comfortable in the Marche terroir, Montepulciano, with a small balance of Sangiovese. The vines of this variety are grown by Velenosi in those vineyards located near Offida and Ascoli Piceno, about 200 metres above sea level. We are in a terroir characterised by a purely clayey and tends to be calcareous subsoil. The manual harvest takes place in mid-October, and the must ferments at a controlled temperature, in steel containers with a capacity of 100 HL, macerating for 28 days. This is followed by ageing, which takes place for 18 months in barriques.

The Red Piceno "Roggio del Filare" is visible with an intense ruby colour, crossed by more garnet flashes visible especially in the nail. The nose is orchestrated on an initial fruity olfactory wave, which slowly gives way to scents of aromatic herbs and touches of lavender. On the palate it has an excellent body, with a warm sip from which a fruity taste emerges, very pleasant and balanced. A label signed Velenosi that, year after vintage, is always confirmed at excellent levels, just think that for more than 10 consecutive years the Gambero Rosso magazine has awarded it the prestigious Three Glasses award, and that it should absolutely be tasted at least once in a lifetime!
