The elegant Roma Edizione Limitata from Poggio le Volpi glides into the glass with a bright purple-red color. This Italian red also shows a transition to garnet red. If you swirl the wine glass, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. The nose of this Poggio le Volpi red wine reveals all kinds of plums, blackcurrants, mulberries, blackberries and blueberries. As if that wasn't already impressive, the maturation in large wooden barrels adds oriental spices, toasted barrique and black tea.

With its pleasantly dosed residual sweetness of 11.8 grams per liter, the Roma Edizione Limitata flatters the palate and impresses with its round and harmonious texture. Mineral notes from the volcanic rock-dominated soils are added to the finish.

Vinification of the Poggio le Volpi Roma Edizione Limitata

The basis for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Roma Edizione Limitata cuvée from Poggio le Volpi are Montepulciano and Syrah grapes. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on volcanic rock soils in Lazio. The Roma Edizione Limitata is an Old World wine through and through, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. After the grape harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by ageing for 24 months in French oak barrels.

Dining recommendations for the Roma Edizione Limitata from Poggio le Volpi

This red wine from Italy should ideally be served at a temperature of 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to stuffed peppers, duck breast with sugar snap peas or braised chicken in red wine.
